Magento at Webwinkel Vakdagen
Wednesday, 02 February 2011Last week, the Webwinkel Vakdagen took place - this e-commerce event in The Netherlands is a very good choice for anybody running a webshop or looking to run a webshop. Spead-out over a space that could easily calculate to 2 acres (Jaarbeurs Utrecht), numerous vendors gave information on e-commerce and related tools.
Magento was everywhere
Impressively, open source e-commerce solution #1 - Magento - was mentioned everywhere. Not only were there various official Magento partners promoting their services, but also other vendors seemed to have realized how big Magento has become. Interestingly, other e-commerce solutions like osCommerce, VirtueMart and Xcart were mentioned nowhere.
Yireo and Magento Competence Center
The guys of Yireo were also present: As a stunt we were wearing Magento-labeled t-shirts to promote the new Magento Competence Center that has just opened up in Amsterdam: The Magento Competence Center - a partnership of various Dutch companies specialized in Magento stuff - is ment to be a knowledge base for Magento enthousiasts and is quickly becoming an important contact-point within the Dutch Magento community.
