Dutch Joomla! 1.6 Bootcamp - 5th of August

Friday, 09 July 2010

With Joomla! 1.6 Stable coming closer and closer, we found it time for a Joomla! 1.6 Bootcamp. In the past, we've been giving bootcamps in The Netherlands on subjects like Joomla! programming, templating, 1.0 to 1.5 migrations and security. Now it's time to meet Joomla! 1.6.

Time to dive into Joomla! 1.6

While the GUI of Joomla! 1.6 again has improved a lot - making the M(anagement) in CMS more efficient -, on the technical level a lot has changed as well: ACLs are introduced, templating is improved, new plugin-events are fired, JForm makes building forms easier and MooTools 1.2 is ment to end the conflicts with other JavaScript frameworks like jQuery and ProtoType.

But ... it's not stable yet?

Some might say that it is not yet time to start with Joomla! 1.6. It's true that it's too early to build a production site with Joomla! 1.6. But because some of the concepts require extra knowledge, it's wise to invest now in knowledge so you will be ready to pick the fruits once the stable 1.6 comes out.

About the bootcamp

The bootcamp will be held on the 5th of August 2010 in The Netherlands (Amsterdam). The day will be held in Dutch language only. While the day is not a national Dutch event at all, the bootcamps of Jira ICT are known in The Netherlands for their technical impact and hot topics.
