Wild Hibiscus webshop

Monday, 09 August 2010

One of the team members of Yireo, Ray Bogman, found some additional time to build his own webshop - Wild Hibiscus. The Dutch shop focusses solely on the hibiscus-flower, which originates from Australia, which could be dropped in a glass of champagne - giving it a reddish color and a playful romantic effect: Ideal for weddings.

What?

We encounter often webshops selling wonderous things: Wonderous because nobody would ever dare of selling it in a real store, but ingenious as well because webshops allow for low-cost selling, making these goods suddenly profitable: Oath-cookies, flight uniforms, grandpa clocks and now hibiscus-flowers. It's all out there on the web.

Actually the hibiscus-flowers are gaining popularity quickly, because they add such a nice effect to weddings or other romantic affairs. It's very clearly a niche, but as for every niche, there is always a demand - surely if there is no competition.

About the MageBridge shop

Ray Bogman started the shop to gain more practical knowledge of the concepts of e-commerce: The actual shipping and distribution of the goods is outsourced, but it still leaves the management of the webshop itself: Of course MageBridge was used - the theme was built using a RocketTheme template plus on our MageBridge template-patches. Also the shop runs on top of a shared hosting environment, but this shared hosting environment is optimized for Magento, and there for for MageBridge.
