MageBridge goes live
Thursday, 23 July 2009After months of hard work, we are proud to present you MageBridge - the extension that binds Magento and Joomla!.The suite of extensions offers a full integration of the Magento e-commerce application inside the Joomla! CMS. Not only does it handle user-integration, but it also displays Magento content in Joomla! extensions, integrates with search and plugin-events and is based on a solid code-architecture.
With MageBridge you can quickly connect Joomla! with Magento and put all your effort into the custom theming of the site. Regarding design you can use the theming engine you're familiar with: Either Joomla! or Magento. Forget about VirtueMart, enter Magento.

Purchase and licensing
MageBridge is now available in our Yireo Shop. For the small fee of 195 Euro, you get this fantastic software for one Magento domain and up to five Joomla! domains. You also get access to technical tutorials guiding you through a safe implementation of both Joomla! as Magento. And you get support from professional engineers that have experience with both Joomla! as Magento.
MageBridge is only partly GPL and the full suite of both Joomla! extensions and Magento extensions can only be used when purchasing a valid license. However, we fully comply to the GNU/GPL (as used in Joomla!) and do not use any core-hacks and/or software-encryption. This means that you as a customer can still benefit from all the features of open-source, while also being guaranteed professional support from Yireo.
Testing
We have tested MageBridge successfully with Joomla! up to version 1.5.13 and Magento up to version 1.3.2.3. Also we have tested MageBridge successfully with popular Joomla! extensions like Community Builder, Nooku, Joomla!Forms and even VirtueMart. We didn't need to modify any of the code, which shows that MageBridge runs fine along side all other extensions in a non-obtrusive way. It is written according to the coding standards of both Joomla! as Magento.
Coming weeks we will work on integrating MageBridge with multi-lingual extensions like Nooku and Joom!Fish, but also third party integration through the revolutionary plugin-system which allows to use Magento events within Joomla!.
