If you have a Joomla!^TM site with a shop or some kind of payment mechanism, using SSL is a must. But if you want to use your site for social media as well, which requires a lot of times non-SSL, you'll want your website to automatically redirect to HTTP or HTTPS depending on the page you're on. With our SSL Redirect plugin this is very easy.

Mixed content

One of the biggest problem is that if you use both HTTP as HTTPS on a single webpage, the browser might complain about some kind of security issue with mixed content. IE for instance warns you that the "page contains both secure and nonsecure items".

This could happen if you load some kind of social media (Twitter, Google Gadget) or some other JavaScript-tool (user tracking) on your SSL-pages. Our opinion is that it's stupid enough that those JavaScript-files do not have a SSL-variation (which would solve this issue), but untill they do you're facing this problem.
