We really enjoyed JAndBeyond 2010 in Wiesbaden, and when we heard that JAndBeyond 2011 would take place in the Netherlands, we were excited right away (it's our home-country). This important developers-congres will take place in early May 2011 in Kerkrade, and surely, it will be worth visiting it - so write it down in your agenda.

Put your hardware to use

Software needs hardware, and when looking at a heavier software-application like Magento, you also need heavier hardware. But is buying a 16-CPU 128Gb-RAM server enough? Or do you need to do something else as well? When working in the field, we came to the conclusion that a lot of hosting environments are not optimized to make use of the underlying hardware - this is a waste of money.

Setting the MageBridge URLs in Magento

In some situations, it is needed to set a hard definition of the MageBridge URLs in Magento. Normally, MageBridge is able to set the right URLs dynamically. But if a specific caching engine is combined with frequent visits of the stand-alone Magento site, it might happen that stand-alone Magento URLs end-up in the cache being used by MageBridge. In other words: Magento URLs on a Joomla! site - which is wrong.

Past weeks, we made various excellent YOOtheme templates compatible for MageBridge by adding a specific template-patch. The new templates include YOOtheme Enterprise, YOOtheme Royal Plaza and YOOtheme Symphony. The patches for MageBridge are now available in our Yireo Shop.

MageBridge 1.5 is out

After months of hard work, we decided to increases the major number of MageBridge from 1.4 to 1.5. It's a small change, but actually it falls together with the introduction of a new caching ability in MageBridge: Forget about Magento Enterprise - here comes MageBridge!

Free template-patch for free RT Grunge

In August 2010, not only the RT Zephyr template was released, but also another free RT template: RocketTheme Grunge. Having released already a MageBridge-patch for Zephyr, we also made patch for this new RocketTheme Grunge template available.
