Sync and search

As of yet, MageBridge is the most complete bridging solution that brings Magento to Joomla!. All areas of integration are covered, including user synchronization and search integration. Things like Single Sign In and Single Sign On are dealt with out-of-the-box. You can also extend the Joomla! search to Magento products.

Search plugins for Magento products

The MageBridge Search Plugin allows the Joomla! search to be extended to Magento products. Third party extensions like JExtended Finder are supported with extra plugins.

User synchronization

MageBridge takes complete care of the user synchronization: If an user is created in Joomla!, MageBridge creates an equivalent customer record in Magento - and vice versa. If the customer data in Magento are modifed, MageBridge syncs these changes to Joomla! - and vice versa. If the login credentials (username or password) change, MageBridge replicates the changes to the other side.

Besides user synchronization, MageBridge also adds a Joomla! Authentication Plugin to authenticate users against the Magento database. Contrary to other bridges, the concept of Single Sign On is pointless in most cases: Single Sign On would allow an user to login to both Joomla! as Magento, but with MageBridge the entire Magento frontend is replaced with Joomla!. Instead, Single Sign In is the actual keyword - and that ofcourse works out of the box. Still, the usage of Single Sign On is available and fully supported.
