MageBridge

MageBridge adds a bridge between the Joomla! CMS and the Magento e-commerce platform - integrating them visually, but also offering usersync, additional performance, extension integration and much more.

Visual integration of Magento in Joomla!

MageBridge visually integrates Magento into Joomla!, giving direct results by not only merging Magento blocks into Joomla! content-areas but also by integrating HTML-headers. This concept is called Combined Theming and MageBridge offers options to fully customize this behaviour.

Combined theming

Because the Magento theme is actually pushed inside Joomla!, this allows you to be very flexible in how to modify things. CSS-code can be modified in both Joomla! as Magento, while the HTML-code remains in Magento. The MageBridge configuration allows you to choose how stylesheets and scripts should be loaded.

JavaScript conflicts

Within the Magento application the JavaScript-framework ProtoType is used, but within Joomla! the framework MooTools is used. ProtoType and MooTools conflict with each other, leading to JavaScript errors that stop pages from functioning properly. The default MageBridge settings solve this problem by removing MooTools, but the configuration options allow you to finetune this to your liking.

MageBridge template-patches

For popular templating clubs like RocketTheme, YOOtheme and JoomlArt, we have developed specific template-pathes that integrate MageBridge fully in those templates. Though we highly recommend you to have proper CSS-knowledge when building a proper webshop, these template-patches make your life very easy.
