No, it does not. People have been dispointed by this from the beginning, and have even given this component a bad rating for this. The sad thing is that they are missing out on the point totally.
A Joomla!TM article is ment to fill a complete page. It can be fitted onto a page with multiple articles (blog-layout) by messing around with a "Read-More" link. SimpleLists uses its own text without the need of having to insert a "Read-More" link. It introduces an aspect regular articles do NOT have: Have an introduction which is different from the article itself.
Furthermore, SimpleLists items seperate the destination link and an image from the body-text, allowing for a lot of variations through a few mouse-clicks.
No, it does not. The reason is again that the current Joomla!TM section/category system is very limiting: You can not have sub-categories (so more than two layers) and you can not put an article in multiple categories.
SimpleLists has - just like any component other than "com_content" - no sections, only categories. That's the architecture of Joomla!. But SimpleLists has extended this architecture by allowing the definition of sub-categories (through a parent-category) and allowing an item to be in multiple categories at once.
You don't. An article is generated by the Joomla!TM component "Content". SimpleLists is a seperate component. If you don't understand this difference, you probably don't understand the difference between a module and a component either.
Always read the documentation first!
Every SimpleLists release will be given a version number. This version can for instance be 1.5.0.6. Because the component only works under Joomla! 1.5 it includes a prefix "1.5". Once Joomla!TM 1.6 will appear (together with ACL support) SimpleLists will be upgraded to a prefix "1.6".
So the "0.6" part is the real version indication. The "0" is the so-called major versionnumber, while the "6" is a minor versionnumber. A minor version can be patched without problems and may offer new features or bugfixes. A major version includes some heavy changes (like ACL or database changes) so be careful when upgrading.
