Another great 1.6 Bootcamp

Yesterday another Joomla! 1.6 Bootcamp took place - only 8 days after the release of 1.6.0 Stable. The day was filled with intense talks about the new features of Joomla! 1.6 like ACLs and multilinguality, and was certainly useful to those attending.

Overview

In the morning Jisse Reitsma (lead developer of Yireo) gave a presentation on Joomla! 1.6 and its features. In the afternoon, Sander Potjer (Joomla! community manager in The Netherlands) talked about ACLs - both the theoretical as well as the practical part. The day ended with Jisse giving a presentation on the actual migration (jUpgrade) as well as the API improvements.

Too much to tell

After one day, Sander and Jisse had to admit that there is basically too much to tell about Joomla! 1.6 to put into one day. Ofcourse it's a bootcamp so the whole day is ment to be dazzling. But it certainly adds to the glory of Joomla! 1.6 itself that there is so much to talk about.

Was 1.6 worth the wait? Definitely!
