Upgrade of template-patches
Sunday, 16 May 2010Just a couple of days we found out that there are some minor issues with our RocketTheme template-patches and IE-browsers.We have just released new versions of these MageBridge/RT-patches, and urge everybody to upgrade both MageBridge as well as their RT-patches to make sure everything works under IE as well.
Problems with IE
The issues we found involve Magento boxes not being aligned properly - which is one of the primary reason to choose for our patches. While the MageBridge template-patches save you a lot of time (which makes them very cost efficient), struggling with IE is always an issue. Because we have found some good solutions to these issues, we feel it's best to share these solutions through our template-patches.
Upgrading everything
Our recommendation is to upgrade everything. The new template-patches can be applied separately, because they involve only minor changes in CSS. But last month we also fixed many pending bugs in MageBridge, so there for upgrading the MageBridge distribution as well is a good idea.
Just make sure you have a valid backup of both Joomla! as Magento (and make sure you know how to restore from this backup). Also make sure you upgrade MageBridge in both Joomla! as Magento. Many fixes were implemented through changes on both sides of the bridge.
