Step-by-step: Activating MageBridge plugins

Within Joomla!, MageBridge uses a lot of plugins to handle various things. For instance, authentication and user synchronization are handled through plugins. By default, after installing MageBridge through its installer, all plugins are disabled. Here you can find the steps to activate these plugins.

Open the Joomla! Plugin Manager

Login to the Joomla! Administrator and navigate to Extensions > Plugin Manager.

Plugin Manager overview

You will see a lot of plugins listed on the screen and it may also be that the plugins are spread-out over multiple pages. Joomla! allows you to search for plugins, so you could search for plugins with the name "magebridge" (case-insensitive).

If you have upgraded to the full MageBridge version, all plugins shown above should be available. The plugins you probably want to publish are:

  • Authentication plugin
  • Magento plugin
  • MageBridge plugin
  • Search plugin
  • System plugin
  • User plugin
  • XML-RPC plugin
The Content-plugins can be seen as optional.

Enabling a plugin

To enable a plugin, check the checkbox on the left and hit the Enable button in the toolbar. Alternatively, you can click on the name of the plugin. This opens up a new page with the settings of that plugin. On the left, you will find a field to enable or disable the plugin.

Plugin parameters

Some MageBridge plugins (like the User-plugin) have extra parameters. These parameters are discussed in other tutorials on the Yireo site. Normally, you don't need to change these parameters unless you're asked to.
