Video: MageBridge and Nooku multilanguage support

Because both MagentoTM as Joomla!TM offer your site to be multi-lingual, MageBridgeTM allows you to bridge both applications in aspect with languages as well. In this tutorial we use a website based on Nooku to add multiple languages to Joomla!, but the same applies to Joom!Fish.

Nooku

Nooku is a new multilingual extension for Joomla!, developed by Joomlatools who also developed Docman. Nooku is based on the underlying Nooku Framework, which aims to be a powerful replacement for the Joomla! Framework. The lead architect of the Nooku Framework is Johan Janssens, who is also responsible for the main portion of code of the Joomla! 1.5 core.

Another popular multilingual extension for Joomla! is Joom!Fish, which is also supported by MageBridge.

Multi-lingual content in Magento

With MageBridge, you're not supposed to translate Magento content within Joomla!. Magento is already multi-lingual, so the translation process takes place in Magento itself. MageBridge makes sure that once the Nooku website is loaded in French, the bridged Magento shop is also displayed in French.

Our other MageBridge tutorials guide you in the process of configuring the whole of Nooku (or Joom!Fish), MageBridge and Magento in order to get things working.
