Lightbox is a very cool effect which shows a popup with a smooth Web 2.0 effect. Joomla! 1.5 is shipped with a JavaScript library called MooTools, and using this library a Lightbox-variant called Squeezebox has been integrated. The Joomla!^TM Administrator makes use of this effect when allowing you to choose an article. SimpleLists makes use of this effect in the backend as well, but you can also add it to the front-end.

SimpleLists allows you to build a list of items and each item can point to a certain weblink. If the items would point to an "Internal File", you're actually building some kind of download-page. This tutorial takes you step-by-step through this process.

If you want to create a language-pack, the best thing is to copy the English language-files and translate them. There are two seperate language-packs you need to create: One for the frontend and one for the backend. The frontend only needs one language-file: language/en-GB/en-GB.com_simplelists.ini. For the backend two language-files are used: administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_simplelists.ini and administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_simplelists.menu.ini. The last file only includes the translation of the menu-item, so could be skipped.
