Upgrading SimpleLists

Use the following information to upgrade your SimpleLists component.

Upgrading SimpleLists version 1.5.1.3 or higher

1. Click the upgrade button.

Upgrading to SimpleLists version between 1.5.0.3 and 1.5.1.2

1. Create a backup
   Upgrading any kind of software should always be preceded by making a backup. Make sure you have a good backup of both your files (the complete Joomla! website) and the database (a MySQL database dump).

    

   NOTE: There is no need to uninstall SimpleLists anymore.

    

2. Install a newer version of SimpleLists
   Fetch the latest copy of SimpleLists from this site and install it using "Install/Uninstall" and next the tab "Install". The SimpleLists component will detect any existing content and migrate it to the newer version if needed.

    

3. Check the parameters
   To make sure the SimpleLists parameters are set, browse within the Joomla! Administrator to the SimpleLists component. Open up the "Preferences" box using the button in the toolbar and save it again. You don't need to change anything.

    

4. Check your menu-items
   Browse within the Joomla! Administrator to the Menu Manager. Open every link pointing to the SimpleLists component and save it again.

    

Important note on SimpleLists versions older than 1.5.0.3

Versions 1.5.0.2 and older can NOT be upgraded using the method above. It is recommended to manually copy all items to a new installation.
